Podiatric X-Ray Assistants - Initial Licensure and recertification

FPMA offered a Podiatric X-Ray Assistant program on Saturday, January 18, 2020 during SAM 2020. The eight hour course (which included a two-hour mandatory Medical Errors course) was for Initial Licensure and Recertification of Podiatric X-Ray Assistants. The examination for Initial licensure of Podiatric X-Ray Assistants was offered on Sunday, January 19, 2020, the final day of SAM 2020.

A new continuing education requirement for Podiatric Physicians AND Podiatric X-Ray Assistants, implemented by the Florida Legislature, was also offered during SAM 2020. Podiatric Physicians and X-Ray Assistants must complete a board-approved, 1-hour continuing education course on Human Trafficking. Completion of this course is required by January 1, 2021. For convenience sake, the Human Trafficking course was provided during the SAM 2020 X-Ray Assistant program attendees' lunch break from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the same room as the X-Ray Assistant program on Saturday, January 18, 2020.  To find out more about the new Human Trafficking requirement, click HERE.
